Can I just say that the new Star Trek movie is amazing!!!!!

I was so very excited when I first heard they were making it, but got a little nervous when people started to criticize it. But I went and saw it yesterday, and fell in love.

I don't want to reveal to much for those who haven't seen it. But the way the plot plays out is rather genius in my opinion. I thought they did an excellent job picking the actors. Chris Pine reminds me so much of Shatner, I think he really fits into the role nicely. Zachary Quinto was a little of a shock at first but after a few minutes of watching him onscreen he became Spock to me. Karl Urban as Bones was hilarious. His facial expressions are too perfect. Zoe Saldana is just as lovely as Nichelle Nichols and to me stays true to her character (though her romance with one of the crew is surprising but slowly growing on me). And Simon Pegg: brilliant! John Cho and Anton Yelchin did very well as Sulu and Chekov though neither look much like their older counterparts. However, they captured the essence of the characters and put the own unique spin on them. (And Sulu's fencing: awesome!)

I thought the plotline was unique but fit very well into the Star Trek universe. I can't wait for them to make another!
